Ubuntu (Linux) version?
Any news on a version of this game for Linux-based operating systems, such as Ubuntu?

I'm not a big chess player myself - heck, I'm not even really sure how to play the game - but my son is right into it, and I'd love to get this for him...

Get it for him and see if it works through WINE or an equivalent program.

PlayOnLinux simplifies getting games (and software!) running through WINE under Linux-based operating systems... But not all games and software runs perfectly via WINE.

Raptr for example, works under WINE (via PlayOnLinux), but only a portion of the functionality works and its unique "dock" interface struggles with Unity...

We Linux users do not want to use an emulator. We want native support.

+1 for Linux; I only bought this because Linux was promised.

This is why you never, ever buy a game that promises support for Linux-based operating systems until the game is actually available for Linux-based operating systems...

All too often, developers promise a version for Linux-based operating systems, people buy the game based on this and then the developer changes their mind, whilst having the last laugh.

Heck, Dev can't even put out a Windows based version that wont crash every 10 minutes

I spoke with a (the?) developer on Facebook. I get the sense that they have their fingers in a few too many pies at the moment and everything is lagging as a result, plus they aimed quite high with the update and that's dragged it out as they've been hitting unforeseen problems.

Yes I also spoke with Becky he/she said that the patch is on hold as one of her friends had some sort of lumber jacking accident where he chopped off both his arms and legs with an axe.. poor guy:(... He should be well enough in about 8 - 10 months for Becky to pick up where he/she left off.

Are you being serious, or are you being a smart-a$$? That's pretty random, if true...
