If you love the star45, don't buy a silenced Makarov
If you love shooting the star45 (like me), DONT BUY a silenced Makarov. It's underpowered anyway, but even worse, if you buy it, it will be placed on the wall under the star45 in the weapons storage room, and for some reason it becomes impossible to take the star45 off the wall, so you can never take a star45 from the storage room anymore.

If you're having a problem grabbing weapons, then you will have far worse problems down the line.

Grab the Multifixer program from the guides page, and always run FC2 via that program.

You can grab both weapons easily if the game isn't bugging out.

Also, the 6P9 is completely silent and is probably the most OP weapon in the game.

6P9 the "most OP" weapon in the game? You must be talking multiplayer games then, sneaking up on unsuspecting other players, finishing them off with a silent headshot? If that's your definition of "OP" I might agree, but you won't get much chance doing that in the story game. NPC's can smell you from a miles distance, and you won't stand a chance with that Makarov toy gun. What I mean by "underpowered" is just raw damage statistics, nothing more.

Thanks for the Multifixer tip by the way, hadn't heard about that program.

the silenced makarov is almost like a sniper, obviously good for stealth kills.
I always buy it first and as soon as the dart rifle becomes available I then replace it with that and change my loadout strategy.

the star45 makes bang bang but if you aim at the head the makarov is very effective.
every clean headshot is instakill even in vanilla, unmodded game.

and stealth is possible and viable, you just need the stealth vest, silenced weapons and night time.
the ai is less aware and alerted during night time.

Some people say the stealth vest (camo) doesn't work, I don't know I never tried it. Is it any good?

It doesn't make you invisible - you still need to keep low and and use shadow and cover
but It does allow you to traverse large areas in the open while crouched and get closer
to your targets unseen.

It's well covered here in Chapter (3) - "Part 2 - Conflict Strategies - Beating AI"

- IN2FC2 -

Also the "Weapons Selections - Comparisons" article in Chapter (2) has info on how to
snipe with Pistols and other weapons.

I don't play MP. Only referring to SP.

It's a laser beam that usually instakills with a headshot and makes no noise. Fantastic secondary if you're playing stealthy. The only way I could see it being worse than the star is in active combat against multiple enemies.

Give it another shot once you've fixed the bugs in your game.

I tried the 6P9 but I never saw no laser beam. Is it an upgrade or something?? Or do I use it the wrong way?

He just meant it's deadly accurate. - In my experience the most accurate in your arsenal.
I only stopped using the silenced version because I like playing with alerted enemies,
and it doesn't have the stopping power for dealing close up with multiple engagers;
But from a distance it can be used just like a sniping weapon.

From a distance you can't see much detail, so you'll have to sneak in and by the time I reach the right distance to attempt a headshot, they already saw me coming and start blasting me to pieces. I'd love to learn how to beat the AI, but I just haven't succeeded yet.

Really? I had to actually nerf the 6P9 in my mod because it was just way too good, best stealth weapon by far, you can literally clear out entire bases without anyone noticing you. I balanced it by giving it massive damage falloff, terrible reliability and a long ADS time.

Did you check the weapons section of the guide? You'll find the the sniping technique
there. - 6P9 is ideal for it. - Your shots are more accurate from a crouched position and
using cover is always advised. Once you're spotted stealth is lost until you relocate and
lose them for enough time for them to go back to a semi-alert state.

Unbelievable. If I try to clear an enemy base (stealthy, crouching, 6P9 at night) and I pop the first guy (single headshot, no noise), the rest immediately zeroes in on my position and starts blasting me. I don't know how you guys do it.
