Save button not working.
Basically, last night I was playing the game as usual when the it got too late. So I decided to find a safe house and save there, and then quit. After that, just now, I opened the game again and started playing as usual. After awhile, I realized I couldn't save using F5, so I decided to open the menu to save manually. Then I realized that I couldn't press the save button, and weirdly the "save game" button was white? Like the other buttons in the menu was black, but the save button was in the white. I tried deleting some save files because I thought maybe the save files was full, but didn't work. Then I tried closing and opening the game and it didn't work.

Is there a rule in the game that if you saved in a safe house once then that means you can't save manually? Does this mean I have to go to a safe house every time I want to save? Because I REALLY don't want to do that.

Your save is probably bugged and can only be fixed by reloading a previous save file where the bug hasn't happened yet if you still haven't fixed it. I think the "save anywhere" feature was a huge afterthought by the devs because it can bug out really easy and it just creates another save instead of overwriting the last one, in the consoles it didn't exist and the only way to save there was by going to one of the safehouses.

Dl and always use mult-ifix to launch the game.

If you still have save problems delete the file
C:\Users\Admin\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2\GamerProfile.xml

Then launch the game - you'll have to reset your gfx settings but your control
setup will be the same.

Question, if I delete the game and install multi-fix, and then launch the game again, will my progress save? As in if I uninstalled and then installed, will my progress be saved?

Your saved game folder is located at the address I posted above. Your games are safe,
but you don't have to delete the game. just install multi-fix and use it to launch the game.
It comes with some great features including Set Field Of View option. The vanilla FOV is
pretty narrow.

If you have corrupted saves I have a collection of saved games made in chronological
order available for DL if you need them. - They're clearly numbered and labeled so it's
easy to locate the saved game you need. - The links are in my guide here->:morphine:

Oh! Thank you! I'm not familiar with some terms so I thought "Dl" meant delete, as in delete the game :steamsad:.

Unfortunately, my specific problems still persists. Thank you anyways! Multi-fix is still a really cool mod.

It sounds like there's a permission issue with that folder. This is a known issue. Does launching as admin make a difference?
