Always run the game in DX9.
I run at 4060 on UHD 55" monitor - High contrast makes the sunbaked desert featureless
glaring white.
Before launching I balance the settings on my monitor.
I keep my contrast slider at about 3/4. Brightness at about 1/4 and gamma a little over 1/2. - Then if I need to - adjust the contrast setting on my monitor to sharpen things up.
Every system is different of course - but the contrast range in this game is pretty extreme.
Over the years I've run the game on 5 different systems and monitors and the slider settings
were nearly identical for all my systems.
- IN2FC2 -
Could you share a photo of your slider settings. I also use Redux Mod for realism plus it comes with Multi Fix so i am not sure if DX9 is compatible with it.
Whether using their mods or not there will be no conflicts.
Since I'm using the R+R mod I cannot take screenshots of any menus. - I have to
take a picture of my screen with my camera and then email it to myself. then DL
then UL and post as steam artwork. - I'm on satellite and it's often slower than
old fashioned dial up.
Trust me, my settings are exactly as I described. You'll have to test on your
system to find the right balance. - Like I said balance your monitor first - set
Bright, Contrast and Gamma to mid range that looks nice. Then load up the
game and get the best setting you can with the sliders. then refine by tweaking
your monitor again if necessary.
- Best of Luck - !
Ok I will switch to DX9. It is a shame Ubisoft never fixed the issues with DX10.
Here is what I have my sliders set to not sure if it's too bright or too dark sadly my Monitor is a TN monitor so it's hard to tell if it's too bright or too dark. Should I raise or lower any of the sliders or does it look fine?

All looks fine to me. I turn down the brightness an turn up the gamma to see more
into deep shadow.
My brightness is less than half of what you have set, and my gamma is a bit higher.
- Just takes a little tinkering to find the sweet spot that works for both day and night.
Ok Thank you. I will continue tinkering.
