Tips for safe Stormy missions
l hate stormy weather, most of my deaths are from the storm and not from monsters.
l rather go eclipsed moon than stormy weather.
But l am sure they are tricks or methods to circumvent the problem, maybe even trivialize it if it is possible. After all, this game does promote creativity.

As for the obvious signs of being by the storm, my weak PC or rather, my low FPS at crucial moments can drop and can force me to lose focus or be slower to react to threats, leading to my death. l tend to lose focus if l play games with stuttering. The stuttering isn't that big in this game but it can happen, l may not even see the signs of upcoming storm strike for example. The poor optimization can play a part on this. What l mean is, l am not in unplayable state. But some moments can't be impossible to produce due stuttering.

For example, the Assurance or Offense jumps. If there is heavy stuttering, l tend to miss the jumps and they are also advanced jumps that have you going to the roof or to the side of the ship and then jump, for me, those are impossible with choppy FPS

One thing you can do is, if you have spare keys, have them outside of the ship so it lessens the chance of targeting scrap items

The only thing you can really do in stormy weather is to avoid metal objects. You already know to drop metal objects when they start to static but if your comp isn't running good or you're stuttering I would either avoid completely or look for look for plastic.

You mean those objects have the highest priority or chance to being hit as the game decides? l heard shovels, bells and keys can be used. l believe these items can lessen the chance for my objects to be targeted because the main problem of storm l have is being constantly attacked and not being given enough time between attacks. Like, every 4-9 seconds l get attacked and if the items placed strategically can reduced the ammount of attacks, then sure, l will do it.

If you can't react to the visuals and sounds an item gives off before getting struck, it's best to avoid conductive items altogether.
Conductive scrap is as follows:
-Apparatus
-Bee hives
-Brass bell
-Cash register
-Clown horn
-Egg Beater
-Fancy lamp
-Flask
-Gold bar
-Large axle
-Large bolt
-Metal sheet
-Red soda
-Robot toy
-Stop sign
-Tea kettle
-V type engine
-Wedding ring
-Whoopie cushion
-Yield sign
(Source: Miraheze wiki for scrap items)

Alternatively, if you don't want to give up these items, you could always get someone else to ferry them to the ship for you.
Hope this helps!

Your comment made me look at the wiki again and l was surprised that a bee hive is conductive, very surprised. Can they really be conductive? What kind of metal they have? That makes my hiverunner tactics more difficult.

Whoopie Cushion is conductive? Nah, surely not.

It is, as stated in the wiki but even, it is not worth taking this item. Very cheap
