This is NOT a mainline game

Its not a mainline game by any means. Setting content aside, every mainline game has its iconic turn-based fighting system, while each spin-off does not. And most important of all, you know its a mainline game when the title has "Hyper Dimension" in it, with the exception of the last and most ambitious mainline game (and that one obscure Idol game you never heard of anyway), which was rightfully called "Mega Dimension".

Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters is an "orthodox spin-off", meaning its closer to the main-story than other spin-offs, but still a spin-off and if you cant notice that, you should not even be here playing it. Yes, thats right. I said it. You should have been gatekeeped.

Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters (超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ Sisters vs Sisters Chōjigen Geimu Neputūnu: Sisters vs Sisters, lit. Super Dimension Game Neptune: Sisters vs Sisters) is an orthodox spin-off RPG in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series.

If you could bother to google for ONE MINUTE you would find multiple outlets and articles that refer to this game as a spin-off. But no, lets muddy the waters with definitions as to why this could be considered a mainline game.

It's not, it's a new spin-off that takes place after Neptunia VII.

The game takes place after VII, in a cut scene it referenced the main antagonists of rebirth 2,3, and VII. A spin-off probably wouldn't do that, it's definitely a main line game.

It IS mainline. The producers, Naoko Mizuno and Hikaru Yasui mentioned it. Not necessarily mainline games in a franchise gonna share exactly the same turn based gameplay. Both producers mentioned that Sisters vs Sisters was selected as an inflection point in the franchise with a totally new battle system.
