I've just reinstalled the game on another drive to fix crash, and everything is fine.

If you are using the cloud to recover and you have the files on the cloud using the link. Download the latest timestamped one and rename it. You can also check your backup folder on the system itself. The game keeps backups locally.
It is showing that I have saves in there, but they are not automatically applying as one would expect.
That is not happening with this game.
I haven't tried your guide yet because I am not near that PC currently.
