Why doesn't this game use frame Gen?
Like fsr 3 for example? Should I expect an update to add this or will I just need to mod it in?

Well, PureDark released his DLSS FG mod. But you have to subscribe to his patreon (something like $5) to get it. Although I think I saw somebody release something equivalent on Nexus Mods, but with mixed results from what I gleaned.

Then I think you can use Optiscaler after that to add FSR 3.1, right? I dunno really. I haven't messed with Optiscaler too much.

And there's Lossless Scaling of course, which didn't work too well for this specific game for me.

paid mods are just, hell no. i'm not here to fund someone's basement hobby.

I tried one of the mods that gives frame Gen option but it was buggy. I'm just hoping we get an actual update for frame Gen since modders can put it in.

Frame gen adds a huge amount of input lag. Good luck hitting the dodges/parries with it turned on.

It adds a huge amount of input lag if you already have sub 70 fps and turn it on. If you're getting, oh, idk, 90-100 fps and you have a 180hz monitor... framegen is great.
frame gen is not really reliable everytime anyway it also causing statter problem just for my experience but its also good if u really wanna get a good looking game fps also affecting frame gen so its better that way i guess so

When I tried the mod that added frame gen the input delay wasn't noticeable. But it was close to 200 fps on my 240 hz curved ultra wide 34" oled 1440p monitor.

But fair point.
Can't stand framegen, i like my frames to be real not faker than pamela andersons chest

Especially anything that guy produces.
Could do the right thing and just make his Patreon optional, people would support him.

Instead, he paywalls stuff and puts DRM in his code and NOBODY supports him. They pay him, but don't mistake that for anyone supporting his actions.

If your base frame-rate is under 50-60 FPS you're not going to have a good time with frame generation in games that require low input latency, if however, your base frame-rate is around 60 FPS frame generation is FANTASTIC and will make that 50-60 FPS look like 90-110 FPS. I am at 7680x2160 and with a 4090 @ 2900 Mhz +1800 MHz memory @ 1.05v under water block I can run this game at around 60 FPS with all settings on Epic and DLSS4 (Preset K via DLSS Swapper and NVPI Revamped) on Performance (which looks like DLSS3 on Quality), in the opening area, Lumiere, I'm at 60 FPS with a few dips into the mid 50's in cut-scenes (Lyall's fix) and the game's performance is ok, but it's just that, it's just ok, and I'm worried about what kind of performance I may say later on in the game. I just made it to the Indigo tree and this entire section was closer to 70 FPS so I'm hopeful.

If DLSS Frame Generation is available, I 100% use it, for me, although it doesn't improve the input latency, the increase in fluidity feels fantastic, particularly in 3rd person single player action adventure games. CP2077, TLOU2, Spiderman 1 and 2, if the game has frame-gen it makes a night and day difference to the presentation. Also, it's taken games that would otherwise be unplayable with path tracing enabled, such as CP2077 and Alan Wake 2, and have made them playable above 60 FPS with DLSS on Performance. So I have to take back what I said somewhat, even though there is no improvement to input latency, 30-40 FPS without frame gen in these titles, which is unplayable, now becomes a playable experience.

The issue I have with PureDark and his mods, which I just experienced trying to get his mod to run, is that he's literally packaging his mods with trojans or what are identified and behave like trojans with his authentication system:

The question is, why does this game not have DLSS Frame Generation considering it is fairly performance heavy? If you don't like FG, that's fine, you don't have to use it or turn it on but for those of us who do like it, why is this feature missing?

Hopefully someone will crack it for those that do not want to pay. Has happened numerous times with his FG mods.

I'm convinced the Nexus one is just not very good, based on what I hear.

But again Zandatsu, have you tried Lossless Scaling? Wasn't great for me in this instance, which is rare. But worth a shot if you don't already have it (though of course you'll need a good base framerate). Sadly, yes - obviously have to pay a small amount for LS too, but you have it always after that, unlike the other.

My base frame rate is around 70 - 100 on medium settings but 100% scaling on my AMD 7900xt on my 240 hz curved ultra wide 34" oled 1440p monitor. So my frames are okay but frame gen would allow me to go full epic settings. When I had the mod installed it felt and looked better with frame gen on but the game crashed a lot. I just gonna hold out for now on a hopefully update to the game by the devs to add this since they are making bank. I don't want to pay for a mod which might give me viruses.

Thanks End_Wokeness great name btw. My base frame rate is around 70 - 100 on medium settings but 100% scaling on my AMD 7900xt on my 240 hz curved ultra wide 34" oled 1440p monitor. I hope they add frame gen in an update don't wanna risk trojan viruses and/or paying for mods. Thanks for the info.

Thank the devs for not introducing input lag with precise timing gameplay
