Why does this game not have HDR? It looks bad
I have not played a non HDR game since I got my X35 screen a couple years ago. I bought this game and decided to play it anyway as its meant to look great. Let me tell you, when you have a proper HDR screen and when you just finished Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - sorry to say, Claire Obscur looks terrible (only because it doesnt have HDR). Non HDR looks so bad when you have been playing on HDR games for some time.

I hope they add HDR soon because im dying to play this game, when it looks good.

Use renodx. You just drop 2 files into the folder then hit home on the keyboard when you're in game and you can adjust the max nits etc for your screen.

Most Unreal Engine games don't have HDR, it's not a big deal.
Looks bad? Yeah no.
Some areas you so good you could swear they have HDR.

you can get quick HDR by using the lyall mod to get the console and using console commands to enable hdr.

I disagree this game has very dramatic lighting that clips a lot on SDR.

Oh my, with all that haze, HDR would burn into my retinas. Would need to tone down the haze first.

HDR looks like muted colors to me. I'll never understand why people like it.

HDR mutes a lot of the artistic aspects they want to achieve as game developers. The principal of HDR can best be observed in something like Valve's CS:GO. Turn on HDR - go inside a building and then leave the building. You will notice how the edges of the screen or the character's eyes adjust as they would in real life. That's great for a competitive FPS that's trying to simulate semi-realism - but this is a fantasy game.

lol. what?

Nothing Valve has ever done is what you'd consider good HDR. They're a meme.

That isn't HDR lol that's just a simulation of how your eyes adapt to different light levels

Get the RenoDX HDR mod. This game looks insane with HDR.

If you get muted colors, there's something wrong. Usually when you switch to HDR without an HDR capable monitor.

Lmao non-issue.
