It works just fine for me. Make sure to disable steam input for your dualsense/dual shock controller.

Same with a lot of games. Turn off Steam Input.

Could be worse, there could be xbox symbols.

You are right but there is an advantage of doing it the way they do. By disabling steam input they make sure we don't emulate xbox controller and get full, native support for Dual Sense.

yes. Steam input forces DualSense controller to emulate xbox controller. It should not be used unless games don't support DualSense.

Tell that to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at Valve who force it on by default.

steam input is still needed in lots (most?) games that don't officially support dual sense.

Yes. With Steam Input enabled, it's being recognized as xInput (instead of dInput of Playstation controllers) so the game can't really know what type of controller it is.

"fOrCe It On By DeFaUlT" playstation controller assistance is disabled at default if you create a new Steam account. You can enable/disable it in the Steam settings globally. Nobody forces anything but you your brainfarts into this thread

Tbf only very few games offer this. Would be great (and a no-brainer) if devs would put this in their settings more often
