From what I've read, it's 20% gameplay and 80% story.
And it seems like there is a reason why trailers mostly showed story stuff instead of actual gameplay.

Seems like an easy skip to me.
Normally I'm excited for "Koei Tecmo" titles... but the demo of "Touken Ranbu Warriors" was already laughable when it comes to gameplay mechanics.

The only games worth playing nowadays seem to be Switch exclusive, since Nintendo would lose their crap if their IPs get messed up.

Nero would work in a slasher game tho so that was a huge missed opportunity. Have a small roster of playable characters that feel unique to each other and VN story bits in between the missions. One would argue prolonged story bits would kill the slasher pace but Fate's fanbase is here for those so that wouldnt be a problem.
Btw, Extella's gameplay was so boring I didnt even play the next game. Why people like musou is beyond me...
But I guess quality over quantity is not Fate's thing anymore.

I love Fate in general to an almost unhealthy degree, and I agree. Extella had some incredibly boring gameplay, and the story was good but not a lot to write home about, to the point I haven't even bothered to install Link, despite owning it.

Link is too be honest only better in the story part but that doesnt make it better. Gameplaywise its more or less the same, with some variations.
I only bought Link bc it had some of my fav. Fate chars, otherwise i wouldnt be bothered with it after Extella.
Samurai is in that case much much better, there is literally a great story. Its not that amazing like the ones from the anime/lightnovels or the OG VN but its at least on par with the story writing from FGO (maybe not Avalon but every other Singularity like Babylonia).
Gameplaywise its your typical action rpg, a big step from Extella/Link but nothing to be hyped about it.

If you don't want to play a game that is mostly story then you do you. Your money, your time. Do what you want with them. But this is such a weird comment. Especially given how weak the Switch's release schedule has been lately. I mean I liked Tears of the Kingdom as much as the next guy and I quite liked Fire Emblem Engage and there's a few other gems that have been Switch only released recently but the Switch has seen better days dude. I can't even think of an upcoming Switch game i have any interest in off the top of my head. And there were soooooo many good games released this year that weren't on the Switch. I don't really see how anyone can claim the only good games nowadays are the Switch exclusives.

It would be quite nice if we were to have <the case files of Lord El-Melloi II> made into a game like one of the Frogware's Sherlock Holmes franchise.
But then again, I bet that few people have ever heard of this title here, even it's literally the 'official' sequel to the original Fate/Stay Night VN.

considering case files has an anime i don't think it isn't well known just most people haven't read the novels
especially doesn't help that type moon works don't really get official English translations
at the very least it's more well known than something like lost einherjar

It looks like musou but not musou. Sorta a regular action rpg. Look it up. I wouldnt be surprised if they tried to make another musou at first and im glad they did not (at least from what i can tell).
Well, I will be picking this up when it goes on sale (JP games rarely do get nice sales sadly).
