ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES OF RUBICON™

ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES OF RUBICON™

Ibis is objectively a badly designed boss, change my mind (see EDIT!!!)
Against my own advive i decided to try get behind the Ibis fight after finishing the game. Light build, no shoulder weapons, gatling and sword only.

I can aviod most attacks but aside from the fact that i dint think you can avoid all chip damage all the time there are two attacks that ruin the fight.

The big laser: depending on your position its basically impossible to avoid. If i'm mistaken with that pls upload a video.

The big dual X slash from both "swords" of hers. Basically neve been able to aviod that. Maybe a few times when i had the luck being behind her.

Keeping a good postion if also pretty much impossible since the pace is to fast. You will end up in a position where you get wrecked.

I just checked ongbals vid to see how he is dealing with there two attacks. He simply avoids them buy killing her fast.

If there ever way a boss deseve the title "cheap and artificially difficult" its this one. The quote by walter sums it up quite well. "kill it before it kills you".

EDIT: after playing a bit more i can say the two BS attacks I mentioned above are indeed avoidable :D

Problem are all the small drones that are everywhere.

I miss the days where From Soft kept trying to copy Artorias. Now they're copying Malenia. :harveysad:

It's nice that it remains the only boss in the game I have to actively change my build to something meta.

That clickbait Ongball video just proves what we are all saying. The game isn't hard. It is just unbalanced. You play it like an real AC game, and you will have to struggle. You play an OP setup that the devs wanted you to use, and you just dominate.

Hey man, don't need to go that far with your projecting. Noone in this thread was even talking about a no-hit runs or your crotch size until you brought it up :heartmia:

You were the one telling position yourself and avoiding attack would be so easy if you are not brainded. Dont back off from that when you are asked to prove it.

I wouldn't bother with this type of topic. These players know you cannot avoid this crap without hours of practice and expect for you to play perfectly when even they cannot. They have to use someone else who just practiced for god knows how long as an example which is an extreme outlier, not the norm.
What i rly hate about the boss fight is the fact, that in the 2nd phase you cant damage him until he "restored" his energy . Meanwhile he can attack you.....in the end i still beat him, but this is most likely the worst part or was it rly possible to damage him even when his life bar was still not up?

I posted a video of me beating it easily on my 1st playthrough without learning any of the moveset, but it wasn't good enough because I got hit a couple times. It's not our fault OP is demanding no hit runs for a late game boss for a game that's been out a week.

Always bring your best weapons to combat. Seems pretty much like a no-brainer.

AC has always been about building out a mech to suite your playstyle then using that to clear the game. In AC6, the game is about grabbing the OP options that the devs wanted you to use to burst things down ASAP.

That might be fine for a playthrough or two, but it lessens replay value and leads to way faster burnout.

What OP is referring to is that you are forced to take this much damage. You can easily do no hit runs in DS games without being a pro, just learning attack patterns. This game was designed to force you to take damage. Of course, when you have upgraded gear no hit runs are easy, but this game does not give you that gear until later so all of these fights are just DPS checks in reality. If you cannot out DPS the boss you die, and that's not inherently bad game design if done properly. In the case of this game it's horrible because you have the chip damage on top of larger attacks that are extremely hard to dodge and many don't even have a queue or signal of what they are doing. Most games give you queues as to what the boss is doing, this game requires you to simply, stop playing the game and watch their patterns, die, then do that a couple more times before making your actual attempt to beat them with the gear you are given.

Okay Mr. Replay-Value. So then learn the boss so that you become so good at it that your build doesn't matter, instead of wasting energy complaining about it to the forum users.

I've never been in a situation where I was "forced" to take damage. If I took damage, it's my fault. Hitless runs of the entire game are already being routed, and every boss has already been done with 0 damage. Vids are up on YouTube from various users.

Troll detected, thanks for giving me the easy block.

FYI, the vast majority of those zero damage vids were done with gear after the boss is beaten FYI. I literally said this in my post.

Yeah, like that "hitless" run of Balt being copy-pasted around here was using a Moonlight sword from CH4, as well as two needler cannons, despite Balt being the Chapter 1 boss.
