the same content isn't 40/50 hours, it's only until Lahmu, which if you've played SMTV before basically like 6 hours and in that 6 hours there's already a major difference, so the actual part that's the exactly same is the first 1 - 2 hours or so, and yes most of the area it' use will be the same this is basically what they're doing with even with SMT IV Apocalypse and Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker, this 2 aren't really a good example because it's basically a different story start to finish
but that aside, the link you gave says the big differences start from mid - late while it's not entirely wrong, but also not entirely correct, because the major difference was already there since early game(new character, new event etc.) like I said previously Lahmu part in Canon of Vengeance will be so different from the one in Canon of Creation, if you are skeptic watch the 6 hours stream Atlus did a few days ago, that only cover the early game(from after Area 1 to somewhere after Lahmu, I stopped watching because I don't want to get spoiled).
idk man, DeSu is released on 2009, and SMT IV is released on 2013

Now name a single console game port that offered this addition of content and new features and tell us what any other company did for their ports that is even remotely comparable in scale and did not make you disappointed. Really curious.
yeah, and if you want to see when the change actually start from then watch this:
