You don't need both versions. Just buy the Directors Cut. It's a full game and there is nothing needed from the original. There are also better gear in DC compared to OG. Buy Directors Cut get Directors cut. You don't get both games for just buying the directors cut. You buy one game and get one game.
Here is what i read on reddit :
"As much as I love the new stuff in the DC, I gotta agree with this. The original game feels much more the intended experience while the DC additions are really just a lot of fun stuff. Things that were pruned in development but added back because why not? I have been enjoying them a lot but I do feel playing the DC first would have given me a much different impression of the game as a whole."
So i wanted to play the original experience first, that is all :) !
Ah, reddit. The second page of the Internet. And that's just one person's opinion.
I am not going to say either version is better than the other. What I will say is some of the added stuff is great and could be seen as quality of life and some can be seem as should have been there anyway. Like the addition of a firing range. Absolutely should've been in the game from the get-go. The same with a few other things.
It's just a few missions and some gear that you can choose to use or not use. Some of the stuff can make the game feel easier or "less tedious and less of a chore".
It's just a really late time to pick up the original because I am not sure how many players are still playing it. After all the game is a few years old at this point.
I just checked and could not find the OG on any legit reseller so you might be out of luck.
If you do enjoy the traveling and the atmosphere it offers, the Directors Cut wont be the way to go.
I also felt like the DC wasnt as good as the original experience ive had, minor details but ... important to me tho.

Where else can you drink Monster®© Energy™ in a videogame?
I take it you haven't played Sunset Overdrive??? JK
Yea sunset overdrive is awesome..too bad for some reason that microsoft older games on steam all have bad steam cloud saving now. Experienced this on another game microsoft owned too.
Yeah, it is. Totally awesome. Lmao most of the game. I think the cure is to disable steam cloud and then save locally and backup via another method like Dropbox. Dunno, beyond scope of this.
