Seriously I don't think its that jump scary looking anymore... before when there wasn't too many informations or gameplay visuals of how the game might be,... And now after seeing couple of reviews and gameplay videos.. I don't think its that scary.
Alien isolation was spooky to me honestly, and I compared the two games basically.
But who knows idk... Maybe it IS scary after all idk..will see one day when I have a VR headset again... OR a mod comes out so I can play it on flat screen, because I'm impatient
Regardless... I love VR.. I'm certainly not here to cause hatred for the game being VR or something.
Have I gone back in time?
Because if you ask me. Requiring absolute physical inputs, is going backwards. Not forwards. IF Real life was VR. I'd be forced to get out of my vehicle and lift that door manually.
In real life, Pressing buttons to open doors, and make things happen is considered making advancements. Real life is on a mission to streamline physical tedium out of things.
But because Flat Games basically already developed an Accessible version of reality and have been gaming on that for possibly 20+ years, you're just bored of it... and don't see it for what it is. The Ultimate most accessible version of what VR should be aiming for. Flat gaming was just missing the 3D, Depth and Scale.
Just because it's new for digital worlds, doesn't make it the GOAT input method.
IE. Real life is more accessible than VR. And that's just wrong.
I want you to imagine that Flat gaming didn't exist before VR.
That VR would be your first introduction to pressing a button to make things happen.
Like you've never seen an automatic garage door outside of VR.
How would you view the interaction under those terms?
IF we took your apporach to VR and applied it to reality. We'd probably all be walking to work still. Because you'd all fight adamantaly against the concept of a vehicle that lets you just Sit there.
Your boredom with pressing buttons doesn't make any of you correct.
IF someone developed a remote control robot....
One robot is built with AI, that can automatically determine your interactions and fire them off flawlessly... and you basically control this Shopping bot, with a Xbox controller.
OR you can have this other bot.
That requires you to put on a suit that tracks your every movement. So if you want that robot to reach for the cereal box on the shelf, You have to physically mimick crouching and moving your owns arms to translate all those movements to the bot, because this bot is stupid and doesn't have any AI built into it to be able to streamline anything at all.
One bot is actually useful. The other one begs the question of why you don't just walk out the door and go do the shopping yourself.
Or after manually reloading that gun for the 1,000,000 time..... Can I now qualify to streamline it out at that point? Because by this point it's novelty has long worn off.
Reapply this concept as necessary to every other VR only door handle twisting gimmick.... at some point Physical Inputs are not that interesting. Especially not for pointless secondary interactions that have nothing to do with why a person like me loads a game up.
So just remember all this when you're playing this game and you notice those Aliens pause for a second instead of attacking you, so as to give you time to use an archaic input method.
Seriously, that last video I watched on this game, Every damn xenomorph pauses in front of you instead of attacking.
All that said, I'll probably be buying a bunch of vr gear because I'm getting that game either way haha yes I'm part of the problem.
You can play this game in a sitting position as well without turning your body.
Survios (a VR games developer) does not have anything to do with Alien Isolation, Creative Assembly and Sega. So I am no sure what you mean by "a slap in the face".
Anyways trust me. If your health allows you to play VR games, you won't be disappointed. This is the most immersive Alien IP game on the market right now.
This is exactly how I play it - although I do twist and turn a little bit, just because I can. It helps immersion that I'm not locked in place until I press a button, like an old-school shooter. The world feels more... present.
Thats the whole point of good vr games, it would be pointless if they were all flat too
How do you like them apples?
So when you thought the comment was in your favour you were excitedly eager, but once it's explained to you it's not relevant? 🤔
