Nah, I think you misunderstood what Supereverything01 was saying. There isn't anything inside the pak.dir after the update. There's no longer a gcf file and all the files have been moved to the "Common" folder, except there doesn't seem to be anything inside the pak.dir files. When you try and open them in GCFscape, they're empty, so there isn't anything to extract. I've been successful doing the whole extraction thing with other games like L4D2, but this one isn't working out because those paks seem to be empty.

Go there and download the file provided. Follow the instructions and copy the .batch file from that file you downloaded. As Pte Jack said, just substitute CS:S for CS:Go and if you followed the steps to the letter, everything should work out fine.
