Install Quick Time to render as MP4 (ideal would be the H.264 codec but Youtube seems to have a problem with it, MPEG is kind of dark) or render as image sequence and use Virtual Dub to render as a proper AVI.
You can set the export place if you click that light-gray square that has 3 dots near the output path. This will let you choose where to save your movies.
Also, make sure that your movies' names do not contain symbols such as ; or : or ? or " and I'm not sure about '.
Render in SFM as Image Sequence instead of Movie when you get to the render menu. Make sure export audio (WAV) is checked. Images should be PNG, not TGA.
This will export a series of png files and a WAV file (your audio)
Go to VD, either hit ctrl+O or go to File> Open Video File. You open one of the pngs in the list in it this way, and make sure it has "Automatically load linked segments" checked.
Your files are loaded but your framerate is too slow. How to fix: Go to Video tab > Framerate. Custom Framerate, type 24 if you never changed it in SFM. Else type what you changed it to in SFM.
Audio tab > Audio From Other File > select your WAV that's in the folder with the pngs.
Codec: Go to Video tab, Compression. Select x264vf2 thing (make sure you install this to have this option: http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/ )
Now all done, export as AVI. This avi should be accepted by Youtube and can be edited.
