Quick and easy way to convert .obj to .mdl with textures?
I don't need bones or anything fancy, a quick way to convert them, I don't need anything but the model. I tried using blender but I don't see any .mdl support.

Blender doesn't have support for that format natively, you need to look up Blender Source Tools and install that to export into Valve's .mdl format...

This guide shows how to install it, if I'm not mistaken...

Yes, this guide has a lot of other stuff in it as well as that, but then again, that is what makes it one of the best ones out there for doing what you want to do.

I managed to get the Source Tool installed, but I don't see extraction for .mdl. Whenever I try the other model variant (.smd) I get an error saying "Scene unconfigured. See the SOURCE ENGINE EXPORT panel in SCENE PROPERTIES." I'm not used to blender, so I can't find this. Any help?

MDL/VTX/VVD files are the compiled models, which are made from the uncompiled SMD or DMX files (a process done using StudioMDL - or a GUI for it, like Crowbar).

You'll always export/import as SMD or DMX (with possibly a QC file involved), never as a MDL.

Scene properties is about the third button along on the Properties Panel. You'll need to scroll down to find the Source Engine Export panel. What you'll need to do is set the export file path, as it has none by default. (I recommend saving a default filepath into your Blender Startup session).
