Porting Vroid to SFM, Various issues
Hello Friends, Ive been experimenting with porting Vroid models to SFM, Most of the process has gone as you might expect, but I have a few issues I could use some advice on.

https://imgur.com/a/mAlGYgk As you can see here, the model is mostly intact, however her hair color Is supposed to be purple, This makes a little sense because the texture that vroid exports is in fact greyscale, but the color shows up fine in blender, so where is that color information coming from? Do I need to open up photoshop and manually color the hair texture to my preference? or is there some more elegant solution

another problem is that some of the textures which are using a transparency effect (alpha channel) are a little too thick, they end up including some of the surrounding detail which was meant to be left out.

again I could likely open photoshop to improve this but I'd like to see if anyone has a better idea.

Lastly, Vroid exports greyscale specular maps, which I tried to apply by creating an alpha layer on the bump map and using "$normalmapalphaenvmapmask" "1" in my vmt, however this yields no results.

Thanks for the help in advance, I promise Ill make an easy to follow video tutorial on vroid 2 sfm if I manage to work out these little kinks as thanks

u can try export texture from blender, or u can just
$color "[R G B]" through hair vmt and color it whatever u want (that even better if some1 would want to change hair color)

PS imho

First import it into blender then do the standard port to sfm. there are some import tools you can get for importing and exporting

It never has. You need to export the model as smd or dmx file. Then create a QC file to set everything up and finally compile using Crowbar compiler to get the mdl file you want.

This guide is the best showing everything you need to know about porting SFM model

I can't help you with importing Vroid model cuz I don't have experience using Vroid.

the procedure has a few quirks specific to vroid, I may write out the details later but basically you can download a plugin to import vroid models to blender and the rest is pretty standard procedure

Sorry for a late reply, but does this apply to gmod also? if not it's okay i could just have sfm to do so..

I strongly doubt, I am no expert, but I am somewhat unsure that it may import to Gmod
