- Copy your workshop folder, rename it to something else (i.e. customworkshop). Launch SFM from your library, launch the SDK, edit search paths, check off your new folder.
- Unsub to some workshop items.
I sometimes get so experienced that I forget the simple things. lol
Content > Workshop > Items you're subbed to. You can even sort it by game. :)
If you start seeing ( "materials/.vtf": can't be found on disk ) in your console, that might mean one of your models is attempting to load a .vtf file with no name. You can narrow down which model it might be by taking your work camera and pointing it away from the scene, and slowly rotating it back until the messages start popping up. That means whatever object that is causing the error is now being rendered and is actively causing the error.
Check your models override materials, if there are any empty string variables defined for objects in the element viewer, delete the string attribute or fill it with something, otherwise memory will continue to leak trying to load a .vtf with no name that doesn't exist.
This can also happen if you open the "Add Attribute" menu using the string button in the context menu, but switch it to another variable type in the Add Attribute menu.
I'm not sure if this occurs if you try to load a .vmt with a blank $basetexture attribute, but it could? I dunno.
Guess who left the $basetexture as blank under the intention of making the model pitch black combined with color work
