Where can I download VTFedit safely and which version should I get?

I really want to download VTFedit, but I'm not sure which version would be the best to use as of right now. (Feb. 2020) Also, which site should I use, nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178 or https://www.tophattwaffle.com/downloads/vtfedit/ ? I feel it is worth mentioning that every time I go on nemesis.wavelength it brings up an error page and links me to a page with a bunch of files to choose from. If I use this site which file should I choose? Sorry for all of the questions. My thoughts are all over the place. ><"

nemesis, look for the most recent version.

I downloaded "gcfscape186.zip" and "vtfedit133.zip" (the latest versions) just now and confirmed that they have the same files as I downloaded and used years ago from the same site. Probably the site is being changed by the owner.

Thanks! I download it, but just to make sure I'm doing this correctly, what do I do after I extract the file?

If you downloaded the zip, then after unzipping it somewhere, double-click the "VTFEdit.exe" to open it.

When I clicked on the file it gave me a 0xc0000142 error. :( Thanks anyway.

Make sure you are unpacking according to the readme.txt. This will usually explain what you may need to do to get it properly working.
