Have you tried Parsec instead?

Ah yes, just check the 'Online Co-op' box, it's that easy.

We're looking into adding online co-op in the future!

Like Amars suggested, Parsec is a great alternative in the meantime.

What is Parsec? I'm more familiar with that term in space games...

Parsec is basically universal remote play. It allows you to remote share your computer with other players, inviting them in for specific games (even non-Steam ones) or just letting them see your entire computer as you see it.

I actually use it a lot to watch Youtube videos with distant friends, or to essentially stream to them. I've found it to be more stable and responsive than Steam Remote Play overall, but your mileage may vary

Seconding this

Parsec is a lot more stable and usable than most remote play platforms. There's been a lot of success with it in many gaming communities.

There is also an app called RemotePlayWhatever which enables Remote Play Together to any game as long as it is launched through Steam (yes, that also includes games on Dolphin lol), even for those games that have secret local multiplayer modes. Like how a friend and I just beat Devil May Cry 3 together in Co-Op like a week ago.

And it is also useful for games that have an actual local multiplayer but that the devs haven't bother to check the feature on Steam. Like with Resident Evil 5 and 6... Why is it always Capcom who refuses to toggle that feature? lol
