How come it's not the default version of the game yet? It massively improves performance and I haven't noticed any downsides.

I got only one downside from the new engine so far and its that it basically retcons my runs randomly by crashing to desktop with a 50% chance and almost always right around the 30mn mark. It's not great but at least the game doesnt lag anymore when you're past level 10 from all the bullets n stuff lol

They just announced they're officially switching to it August 17th. Hopefully all the last issues will be ironed out by then!
