Free on Mobile?

Why is not free on Steam? Not that i have any issues paying for it, the person who made it did a good job obviously with it being so well received for what it is. still leaves me confused as to why its free on mobile but not steam.

Because on mobile dev is getting money through ads, which, as far as I know, is not allowed on steam.

Personally I prefer paying for the game, rather than dealing with the freemium stuff (in most cases, at least)

It also had to do with a lot of knockoffs were appearing on mobile using stolen code and assets so the developer rushed out a free version onto the app stores to stop them but the adverts are optional at the end of a run to revive your character or earn extra gold

The nice thing though is you can copy your PC save to your phone (if android, unsure about apple) and have all your PC progress on mobile instead of having to start the mobile version from the beginning if you don't want to, depending on android version you might need to rename the file on your PC first and then copy the file directly to where it needs to be on the phone if your android version wont let you access that area from the phone

It should also be noted that poncle tried to get it on mobile via publisher to help get it there faster but didn't go through with them because they all wanted to put in predatory microtransaction and game practices in it. He and his small team had to do it themselves so it would be the least invasive it could be (optional watch ad to get a single free revive per run and optional watch ad to get more gold at the end of a run.)
