Nope. The only relief is putting the game into the background, which lets it run capped at 30 FPS. If your method works for you, then you don't have enough stuff on the screen yet to really see the slowdowns. Or my 9700K is just overwhelmed, IDK.
They're impossible to kill without the upgraded Clock Lancet, as it halves their health repeatedly, IME.
UPDATE: Using the "all cores" launch option greatly increased game performance, but I still end up using the background/ 30FPS trick.
