if you're on 800 eggs you should already be feeling that it's no longer the same game as it was at 0 eggs lol...
You can "delay" the breaking by adjusting your powerups... but it's honestly too much effort to have to keep refunding and repurchasing powerups.
Certain characters "break" faster than others. Concetta will break pretty early on. So will Christine. Because Concetta will be covering the entire screen, and Christine will hit -100% cooldown.
One way to delay breaking due to -100% cooldown is by not getting Empty Tome.
Certain weapons break the game more than other weapons as well. ... Evolved Runetracer, and Gatti Amari, will break the game quite fast. ... Phirragi and Garlic are pretty harmless.
Another thing I mentioned in my video: the biggest problem isn't that the game becomes unplayable, the biggest problem is you might go blind if you look at the screen...
Yes, forever permanent
Honestly the golden eggs were a really bad idea. Or at least really badly implemented.
I got about 100 eggs on a character and called it quits.
You don't have to make your character stupid. It's a choice and it's a long road if done without cheating.
agreed. honestly the game isn't very challenging without eggs so allowing you to ultra powerup characters was never going to be a good idea. maybe they underestimated how much those tiny incremental powerups would add up.
not sure how they're going to balance content from here on out. think it would be better to make changes to golden eggs or cap them lower atleast. it is early access so never too late to fix
Hope devs aren't paying attention to the nerf requests. There will always be someone trying to tell everyone else how they should be playing the game.
I also only do this egg grind on one character. I'll have another one that I use to keep future content challenging.
Not to mention, there are always "best of both worlds" solutions that can be implemented. The simplest being to let people optionally remove their egg upgrades if they want to, and refunding the eggs for subsequent use on whatever characters people want. I would honestly be surprised if we don't someday see something like that.
i'm not 'telling everyone else how they should be playing the game', i'm giving my opinion on a game feature, just as you are, my friend. if you want to play with a thousand eggs and feel nothing, more power to you. my concern is that balancing single player content to remain fun becomes harder with eggs.
future content either factors in an amount of egg grind, or doesn't, and this makes it hard to find the right balance where the game is not too easy, and not too hard without grinding (which would become a wall to the majority of players who play the game casually). imo at that point the game would be better off having a simple difficulty option and sparing the grind.
also, this game lends itself well to having scoreboards and i was hoping they would implement something along those lines officially in future, such as highest level reached with each character in each map, and eggs would make it impossible for these scoreboards to be fair unless you specifically had to choose to compete under the condition that your eggs would be disabled for the run, but that would also heavily limit the number of players competing too which would be a shame. right now leaderboards are generally community maintained and so no option existing to disable golden eggs makes that incredibly awkward to moderate and compete in.
any casual discussion around the game like 'i reached x on y as z, here's my strat' is also now dead because it just comes down to how many eggs you had. overall i just don't think golden eggs help the game much but it's just an opinion, you don't have to agree.
