Bad level design and constant enemy popups in front of you ruined the game. They doubled down on the chore aspect by making finding demon's rng based instead of fight and hire.
The story is good, i liked the characters and their back stories in the Soul Matrix, specially Saizo, Saizo you are an "NyE" as we say in spanish.
Gameplay is good too, rewarding you for exploiting weak points as usual in megaten games but i didn't liked the fact that the enemys can't take advantage of a similar combo mechanic but they still hit like a truck (on hard at least).
I liked how the enemies pop up randomly and try to ambush you like demons in SMT IV/IV:A to make the dungeon crawling a little bit more challenging
Dungeons are obviusly meh and probably the weakest point of the game, except for the first and the last one, specially the last one, that thing screams "here's all the budget my dudes"
The game being straight corridors with combat probably didn't ruined my experience because i play megaten and thats the most usual thing in the franchise so i can't say if that part is a good or bad decision for the game (except for the dungeons designs as i mentioned before)
Also the conversations they have during the social events are fun and curious, you can learn more about the characters and from the world setting itself a little bit more so i liked that too.
And we can't forget Ringo herself, i liked a lot how they managed to make her as curious as a little child but at the same time someone smart without making me die from cringe. (Take the L, R.S.)
The lost numbers DLC is ok, not worth it.
I miss demon negotiation tho.
Recomended.
Spoiler:
I think it's actually worth it. There are multiple quests with cutscenes, all fully voiced (which isn't the case with other side quests) and I especially like that she is an active support character during fights in certain areas. I actually feel like they should have added that mechanic to the whole game. Like many support characters that could join you during fights, after completing their quests.
You either recommend a game or you don't; as simple as that.
But to your point, I will just assign any game that uses Steam Input a thumbs-down regardless whether the game plays well or not. It's the only option Valve allows.
I mean, what the ♥♥♥♥ ?
An entire subline dungeon literally boring I mean dungeon whole game xd
My demon has 1-2 element skill and 1 Physical or Almighty and buff/debuff for 3 skills. I don't use any element break for an entire game not for once when they resist all element I'll keep one demon that has pierce physical all the times.
