Most useless healer i've seen in a jrpg.
It's actually bizarre. Unless you get a different one later, but Nina is atrocious. Limited healing spells, her buffs are okay I guess but everything is somewhat short ranged. Who thought of making her heal a AoE where she has to stand still and her allies too (plottwist; AI doesn't) and it's a small circle in a combat system that is ALL about movement, mobility en fast paced action.

What a horrible fumble. You're better off giving them all auto aid and those passives and just go full dps.

Yeah, I noticed that too and was a whole lot of wtf. Due to that it made me b-line away from emphasizing her Int stat or buffing up her healing spells because they're just extra padding, but in truth the real carry is the revive. When I get more time to play and get further along I'm going to continually turn her into a tank with tanky stats and no-flinch effect (and preferably heal % on hit %). As long as I can make her very hard to kill I can't wipe.

Yeah, I think they did a solid job making her a viable playable character that isn't totally flat mind numbing.

Al's Demon Gate is great AoE and CC. What difficulty are you playing on, because I never see her die in my game.
Btw, everyone does know that when you max your healing skill, it ALSO removes debuffs, right?

I found 6 powerlevel is quite down from 3, once you got Maria ultimate skill it's one way patch down for opponent. Not in case here where you can staggered/knockout and limited range etc.

Many mob has moveset that goes around yours bis skill too. x)

That character deserve a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rework, who thought giving someone very close aoe heal/support ONLY would be a good idea in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ action game, ffs , this is horribly frustrating seriously do something, you cant let that ♥♥♥♥ in your game on the long term

Nina is fine, you need to adjust to your healer :P She don't even have resource costs for her heals, just from that she's more op than most jrpg healer, ofc she'd have downsides. What's the problem with standing a couple of seconds in her aoe ? you probably need to restore AP anyways. :P

Laeticia dies alot tho because she's basically a glass Canon you need to put nothing on her defense and have her go all out. Honestly I feel like this game requires 2 playthroughs to fully understand the combat in post game because I'm still learning lol. Ray is the closest thing this game has to being a standard tank character, I mean yes Elena in theory looks tanky but in practice when I have her ai she dies even faster than Laeticia does so I think I am misunderstanding her kit.

Don't talk as if I can't partake in the steam community I been a member of for 16 years.
Don't want to see me talk ? Don't seethe in steam forums over non-issues you're unwilling to adapt to. :D
As mentioned in another thread, AI are capped at 5 AP if you are not in control. AI also don't like combo strings they cannot complete fully.
With these two pieces of information you should be able to deduce the correct way to get Nina to never stop healing.

^This. Be careful what combos you set on other characters, too, that tend to employ 2-3 AP combo abilities if you want to set them a particular way like making Midas a mid / long range DPS. He will only use the first 1-2 combos and not the 3rd in most such setups.

Except the tool tips say something along the lines of ''if you want your AI companions to us these skills, set up their skill chain'' or something alongside those lines. Maybe I have skipped over it, but have they ever mentioned it in game that AI is only limited to 5 AP? And that they do not ''like combo strings they cannot complete'' ?

If so, then it's 100% on me that i missed this information in game.


But if I have to find this type of information in outside sources to make stuff in the game work... then that's a fail on the games part.


That's why I prefer tales system more, in regards to this. In that you have a player setup of 4 artes for each character and those are only used when you control them. And then there's a whole list of skills/abilities the AI will use, which isn't limited to those 4, so you can just select or de-select the skills you either want or don't want him to use. I find it much more clear that way.

I'm not saying it's 100% impossible, i'm saying it's so contradictionary to the overall movement and feel and pacing of combat that it feels out of place and that you have to go out of your way to make it work.
The game shouldn't have to babysit you, to do the thing that helps you survive and makes the game easier. Do your job, or die. Adjust, or die. Simple.

Are you absolutely serious right now? You make choices and decisions based on information you have. If the game provides me false information and does not provide me with the proper information to make such decisions, it is 100% the games fault for not being clear on it's OWN systems.

If the thing that helps me survive is to do the opposite of what the game told me in the tooltips, then that is 100000% an issue with the game. You cannot actually genuinely think this is the players fault lol.
