Slow Mode. Can't close menu? Can't Jump??

So I have been looking at using Slow Mode. I can open the shortcut menu just fine. I can enter Slow Mode from the menu just fine.

However, I cannot close the menu. The game says to press "M" to close it, but nothing happens when I do. Secondly, while in Slow Mode I cannot make Cal jump.

Anyone know what I am missing?

EDIT: When I bind jump to a second button and press it, then Cal jumps in Slow Mode. So, Space Bar won't make him jump but the second bind will. Must be a keybind bug of some nature.

I have this same problem. I turned on slow mode for one of the hard force tear challenges but now I have the quick access UI on my screen that indicates M to Close but M only opens my map and now my spacebar jump doesn't work. I tried resetting all control settings but nothing is allowing me to get rid of the UI or jump with spacebar (even though it's assigned as the hotkey).

Same problem. Hit the absurdly awful force tear space cable jumping puzzle on Koboh, tried hundreds of times to get through it and couldn't, finally broke down and and activated slow mode to get through the friggin stupid awful timed jumping cable puzzle. Now turning off slow mode and all related settings, and even turning off and restarting the game leaves me effed. Can't jump, have the stupid "m = close" crap on the screen and can't get rid of it. Gawd this game's PC controls are abysmal! >:(

Amazingly, this still hasn't been fixed, but I found a work around: Bind another key in the shortcut menu to open the map. Then activate slow mode from the shortcut menu, then open the map, then close the map. The shortcut menu will close by itself when you go to the map, but slow mode is still active.

I have this same issue, I tried your workaround, but when I open and close the map, the shortcut command menu still sits on the screen. The only solution I've found is quit the game, reload my last save. :(

Update: I figured it out - I also had a controller attached on my computer, so I looked up what the command was on my controller - and I just used my controller to close the menu.
