Now what was really a nightmare?
... that force tear where you have to take on both father and son. That will haunt my dreams for a few weeks
I completed both the original and Force Tear fights with the regular, single saber before leaving the planet for the first time. What really got me, was up until these two fights, I wasn't actually using the lock on to fight. After I started locking onto the toads, I had little to no issue evading their unblockables with jumps that I could then follow up with downward swings.
There were certainly garbage moments where one would be attacking me and just as it finished, the other would use an unblockable attack that didn't give me enough of a window time frame to evade it. Mostly, I found that just using parry in quick succession on their normals while being locked on allowed for two quick attacks before putting distance between me and them was needed.
The unblockable bite is occasionally performed after their two bite attack, which required quick evasion. If done quick enough, you can net a quick hit.
They'll use their charging leap a number of times throughout the fight. I found that if you're locked on and you get the hang of the timing, you can jump, then do a delayed double jump towards them as they're jumping towards you and you'll clear them. Follow this up with a quick downward slash when you get the timing down and its free damage.
The tongue attacks are simply evaded by a jump, then a double jump in the opposite direction. Their leaping body slam was basically free damage. All you had to do was jump to the side, then activate the double jump back towards them after they've hit the ground -- this gives you an opening for a downward slash before they resume their attack patterns.
Their vomit is the biggest opening for attacks. As soon as they begin the animation, you can run up on them and easily get two to three hits in with more than enough time to back up before they begin again.
Hopefully this information is helpful to anyone still working on these fights. <3
