Fix for crashing.
Introduction
Hi,

I have had the bug where the game crashes any time a bird like creature on the second area of the game takes off flying.

I found a fix for me and posted it in discussions and a lot of people it seemed to fix crashing problems, for some it did not, but still I decided to make a guide for it so more people can get their crashing bugs fixed

Steps
  1. Run the game.
  2. Open task manager.
  3. Go to the “Details” tab.
  4. Find JediSurvivor.exe.
  5. Right click it and change set priority to High or Real-time (Loads have recommended not to set to real-time due to it prioritising a
game over more important pc functions).

Another user commented this fix which has also been helping users:

This worked for me:
  1. Disable Fullscreen Optimizations
  2. Full-screen optimization and DPI settings are the default ones on Windows. You should try disabling it by following the steps below:
  3. Locate STAR WARS Jedi Survivor game directory.
  4. Find and right-click on STAR WARS Jedi Survivor.exe file.
  5. Select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.
  6. Checkmark the ‘Disable Full-Screen Optimizations’ box.
  7. Now, click on the ‘Change high DPI setting’s button.
  8. Checkmark the ‘Override high DPI scaling behavior’ > Select ‘Application’ from the drop-down menu.
  9. Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

Conclusion
Hopefully one of these fixes work, a lot have been commenting on my post in the discussion page that it does work and some said it doesn't, let me know below.

UPDATE
Update my game was working fine for ages, its now started to crash usually when I go to meditate, so it seems to work for a while.

UPDATE 2
Other users have also discussed disabling ray tracing seems to help also.

How has this been working for you as of now? Thinking about doing the same, but afraid to cause issues with my PC per your warning.

I'm unfortunately in the percentage of people having a crash anytime a bird takes off lol

Amusingly I just checked back here after thinking my game had frozen again, but it turned out it only froze for about 5ish seconds before resuming. It's the first hiccup I've had since trying this solution and it was after opening up a new large area on Koboh.

I'm fairly confident the solution works, though whether it's temporary still remains to be seen. While it does work, and I'm ignoring my own advice, just remember that changing priority of applications can still cause issues. That can be just as easily fixed by reverting the change though.

Still no issues on my side have been playing for around 2 hours

I'm reluctant to put more time on this game to try this fix. I crash to desktop every 30min but no other problems besides that. The more time I put into the game, the less time I have before I can no longer refund it.
I just don't see how this could be the solution honestly. I have a feeling I'd try it and it worked fine until I got to the "birds" and crash like everyone else. I haven't even gotten to the 2nd planet yet.

What worked for me:
1. turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling
2. turn/disable off both overlays for EA/Origin and Steam
3. Performed a restart, then launched the game from my Nvidia launcher with optimal settings, which differs per system.

There's something really effed with this game. I "optimized" my game on Geforce experience and it set everything on 4K Epic and FSR disabled and it's running smoother than it did with FSR set to Quality. So basically I'm running at 4K native with max settings and I'm getting 80 to 110 fps on Koboh. I don't wanna go back to Jedha since I was crashing non stop there but if I'm right, FSR is friggin' just straight-up broken. Like it actually reduced performance.

No point not trying.

Yea agreed its broken and my optimal settings in Nvidia experience is also max settings, but at 3440 x 1440p and I'm currently playing at native with FSR2 off as well. Its surprisingly buttery smooth atm and no stuttering included.

Point is trying too much, aka goin over 2 hours trying different settings, will void my return. And I'm not keen on trying to play a game that constantly crashes. 2 hours isn't long enough to test the game and make sure it runs without crashes. I'll probably get a refund. I shouldn't have to change settings for the game I paid $70 for to function.

Had the same issue, always on the 2nd chapter. Not noticed if it's anything to do with the birds, but the first chapter worked fine even though my CPU is borderline for this game. I thought I was lucky and had got away with it (given all the issues people are having!), but now I'm on chapter 2 and it freezes every 15 mins or so.

I did try putting the priority to high which worked for a bit. Not tried real time yet as that's crashed my computer when doing it before.

Update: Now it's got to the point where it crashes at the exact same spot every time. When he say's "Greez's place should be somewhere round here" and it cuts to the cutscene / vista.

Screw it, going to try going to go real time.... Here goes nothing.

Update Update: Realtime instantly froze the game. But I set it to "high" and turned every single graphics setting to low / off (including motion blur etc). this finally let me through the cutscene. Then I wen't back the save point and turned the graphics back up. Seems to be working ok so far :).

Just refund it then

Game just keeps crashing when I'm on Jedha for me. No problem on Koboh or Koboh's moon but as soon as I leave the Mantis on Jedha, it crashes.

edit: turned off RT. Not much reflections on Jedha anyway. everything still on 4K Epic no FSR. Crashes just happen on the Jedha base. Outside of the base, it works... for now at least.

This fixed this bug for me. I have passed three groups of the creature that crash the game and haven’t crashed. Although I’m afraid to go off and back on the game incase the bug returns, so can others confirm if it works for them.

I also so people post about the game crashing on the logo, I seen online a mod that removes the logo so you can skip that section, someone should try it to see if that helps.

This worked!

There was a moment at a certain base (don't want to spoil), where my game kept crashing (about 6-8 hours in). Setting to realtime stopped the crashing. Thank you for suggestion!

Can confirm after trying ever other fix and combination of overclocking and not overclocking that setting priority to high in TM let me get past the cutscene I kept crashing on.
