Completed the game, feels around 6/10
So I've completed the game under 30 hours. Were those hours good? Medicore. But it's not that simple. Game has some amazing characters and voice actors. Amazing scenery, nice optimization (at least for me)... But that's it.

Why those 30 hours were not good? Because of writing and quest design. They are not good enough to let you be invested in the long and boring story. First half of the game was interesting. In some parts, when you just learning the game, it was amazing even.

My problem with this game is that it doesn't give you proper emotions. Like... At all. Henry goes here, Henry goes there, Henry since the first hour and to the last mission is just a puppet that runs from point A to point B, sometimes killing someone, sometimes not killing, sometimes talking.

Feels like developers, while trying to follow historical scenery and accuracy, forgot that player may want to have a moment of relief during gameplay. Like... Like a dog, you constantly doing tasks that someone gave you. Henry, give us wine, Henry, retrieve the item, find a man, grab a sword, kiss my boot, go to the forest, go to the city, talk talk talk... Game never let's you be a proper human. Do what you want to do. You are in constant loop of tasks and talks with small variations like "you want to get the same info by scaring, lying or being nice"?

Out of all main quests I've trully enjoyed about 25% of them. Because, again, you are a puppet that runs all the time.

Combat... It's medicore. Imagine For Honor being done by a sole dev for his student project. That's how it feels to me.

I get that people are different, but for me personaly, second half of the game feels like it was artificially dragged for whatever reason. It's long, it's boring and most of all - stupid. Some decisions that were made by other characters are plain stupid. Can't explain without spoilers, so see for yourself.

I liked, however, map and scenery. Looks nice. That's it.

I wish I could write more about the game, but I'm getting tired even while thinking about those fetch quests.

This isn't sex, you're not supposed to rush to finish.

I wasn't rushing. I wasn't interested in any more fetch quest either. Or gambling.

30 hours? You rushed. It took me 150 hours. It's not an MMO you don't need to beat it as fast as possible to get to "endgame" or something like that. It's meant to be an experience.

A review of game posted in discussions. Boo, stop wasting our time and put in correct place.
I wouldn't say the story is boring but it's poorly paced. You constantly get locked into several hours of 'on rails' story before you finally regain some freedom.

I didn't attend the wedding until about 40 hours in. Then I felt forced to plow through about 50% of the main story over the next 5-10 hours.

Just arrived in Kuttenberg region and I hesitate to interact with the main story out of fear of being forced back onto the rails..

What experience? Combat is the same, tasks are mostly the same. I've done some side quests.
30 hours?
This is not your game.
This game is not for everyone, like most good games are.
The best games will be loved to death by a big minority and disliked by the rest of most people.

I love this game, but I'm not sure if this game is meant for me.
(I normally like to have a lot of guns in game.)

The same as... what?

Frankly, a game like this isn't really even for someone who refers to "fetch quests" as such; but there aren't really even many quests that are that basic in the first place. The vast majority of the sidequests have more depth than that, as does the entire main storyline.

I'm 34 hours in and barely finished half the quests in the first area. Some are fetch quests because, I mean, it's one of the basic parts of quest design. But there's loads of cultural rich content and tales tied into it.

It's true it's not perfectly accurate historically and they romanticize a lot of pretty bad things ingame, but it's still interesting to listen to local tales or stories.

You rushed.

I've found the dog, then became a blacksmith, then done some other quests just to see the map and possibly find some treasures. Pacing is the weakest part of KC2

Constantly? This happens exactly twice, and you are warned beforehand so you can choose to only progress when you're actually ready to do so.

These "pacing" comments are ridiculous tbh. The game is largely at your own pace. In fact, it's better htan the first game in this regard. In KC1 there were some quests, like Pestlince, that had a time limit but no time limit was explicitly stated or given, and so if you didn't hurry your arse people would die, which contrasts with much of the rest of the game where even when it seems like you should be not wasting time, you can take all the time in the world.

Yeah I don't get the complaints. The pacing is literally whatever you want it to be.
This is why playing the first game comes in clutch though, atleast you have a better understanding about some of the dialogues and such.

Yes, you don't need to play the first one, but you will understand alot more of some of the dialogues that are present in this game. I just feel the PTSD flashbacks in the beginning isn't enough to sum up the story imho.

But this game is deffo best game this year unless something big comes out.

he is most likely not being truthful. i've finished in 70h without side questing.
reads like another poor attempt at the sad hate grouppie still here grinding the hate for no apparent reason.
should just take the massive fat L and go home.
