How to get rid of Mutt?
I have yet to find the dog. I don't want to find the dog. I don't want a dog following me around Bohemia. However, I am aware the dog is needed for some later quests, apparently.

I am also aware that apparently I can send the dog home, and then I need to talk to an inn keeper to get him back at a certain point.

I am currently residing in the blacksmith. I like the blacksmith. Free board and pockets to pick.

1) Can I get rid of Mutt long term once I've found him or will he keep turning up after like a day or so?

2) When sending him home, to an inn or to the blacksmiths, will he stay there indefintely until needed?

Thanks

You can send him home and he will stay there until you pick him up again.

Awesome. This is indefinite so I can in effect forget about him (ie do I need to go back and feed him etc.? ) ?

You will not have to worry about after you send mutt home. Then he will stay there no matter what. The feature is there so those that don't want to bother with feeding mutt and all that, can just put him there for good.

He only comes back if you have him with you and he gets beaten in battle. Or you don't feed him.

That pos is easily the most annoying part about the first game. Constantly gets in the way of your swing and then loses loyalty for that.

tell him to go home. It begs the question, why haven't you tried all the commands for the dog yet anyway? why come here to ask.. you could have worked it out yourself..

In a proper RPG, there needs to be real choices. The player should be able to choose to keep the nasty mutt or to cook up some Cuman-style shish kebab.

You don't have to ever find Mutt. It's a side quest, not mandatory.
eat him

He was very buggy for me (missing menu option, screwed up obedience, sociopath NPC love/hate emotes, etc...), left him at the Inn.

None of the quest required him to be there, I think I did almost all of them.
I'm at the end phase right now... waiting for a patch that fixes the ending before continuing.
