But this game isn't woke at all.
Being gay is a real thing, even in the year 1400.
This is a RPG, getting this option is totally normal.
Getting rid of all these stupid treads is a good idea.
A few trolls are making to much of them just to troll.
How hard is it exactly to leave non-woke games alone?
rubbish. its worse than 'just an option'. The entire game has been hijacked by a gay lobby and Daniel Vavra has caved to them. All the way through once you realise this, you cannot unsee the little subtle flourishes and innuendo that we are supposed not notice as a hetero gaming community.
I suspect it is has gone this way because the first game was so demonstrably hetero and borderline anti-gay. Daniel realised he went too far and had to backtrack. It's a fair point - the first game was borderline unacceptable pushing several gay tropes that I didnt feel comfortable with. However the remedy to that is not to completely reverse the main characters and make them gay when that was neither plausible based on the first story, nor appreciated by the predominantly hetero fan base.
'just ignore it is a gay romp and pretend otherwise'. We are not stupid we can see what has happened to the game. Congratulation to the gay community - you won. It's your game now, at least we can still enjoy and remember the original.
How? Give some examples.
its not about whether there should be balanced depictions of sexuality in an RPG game. It's about completely reversing the main characters in a way that means the predominantly hetero fan base cannot identify with them anymore.
The way you're talking it's like you're basically admitting that you yourself are gay. Because after all you always have the option to do gay things.. so having the option is being the thing now?
Admit it! You just couldn't help yourself and had to try out the option and now you feel weird because you enjoyed it a little bit!
Entire threads just vanishing into reams of <Blocked user> lists at the click of a handy button.
So much seethe over so much intolerance and ignorance.
It's right in front of us, I'm sorry you're too blind to see it. Go back.
i only played the intro 100 minutes, but here are the examples that turned me off the game
1) the conversation around the campfire at the start is a gay persons imaging of a hetero conversation about women, not a realistic one. I found it pervy and creepy.
2) the whole naked swimming with hans at the start - in retrospect this is a gay fantasy playing out.
3) hans and henry 'being there for each other' through the nightmare and escaping 'together'.
4) why does henry suddenly have his top off and a big package in the inventory screen? Gay artwork that wasn;t emphasised in the original.
can go on and on. I may not have noticed but it is completely confirmed this is all a lead up to the big reveal - the gay romance between hans and henry at the end.
