Achievements not unlocking

So, I'm having a blast with this game. As everyone, from what I can see. The game hooked me so much that, only after almost 30 hours, I noticed that I was not unlocking any achievements. Just to be sure, I tried giving the 150 groschen Hans gives you to the old woman who saves you in the beginning, and the achievement didn't unlock.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

I'm about 60 hours in and was unlocking achievements up until the last few days and stopped. It may be related to the latest patch?

Did you by any chance pirate the game to trial it before buying? Not judging - so many games these days have been coming out broken that you'd just want to make sure.

this is re: somebody having pirated the *first* game, so not the exact same situation but probably still applies to KCD 2 considering it'll share much of the code base. You'd just need to delete the entire pirated version and redownload off Steam.

There are some oddities with achievements. At first no issues on my side and achievements dropped the moment I got them but some didn´t like the one for pebbles that you get when you ride it long enough. It dropped way way later after the recent patch and after I verified the local files after said patch. No idea what´s going on with the achievements tbh. No mods btw.

I was told for the paying back the women, the achievement only pops if you pay her before you meet hans and he tells you we should pay back the old lady.

I tried the Hic hic boom achievment on multiple saves and didnt get the unlock even tho I always died to making gunpowder while drunk. Tried like 5 different saves.
Anyone has this problem?

This was it! I played a bit of the prologue with the "free demo edition", and the performance was good enough to convince me to buy the game. I did as you said and many achievements popped the moment I loaded the game (not all of them, sadly, but hey).

I was struggling with this too, I finally figured it out! You actually have to follow the recipe precisely, only while drunk! If you mess the recipe up, you die even if sober. The death screen has to specifically say "Making gunpowder while drunk was not a very good idea" AND NOT "You weren't paying attention while making gunpowder, and it blew up in your face". Hope this helps!
