If it's suck on a blank screen when it opens, I was able to fix it by installing the Bypass Windows Check mod from Gamebanana, but it looks like it was taken down. If someone wants to try it and see if it works for them, I can upload the folder to Drive or something. I installed it through the Diva Mod Manager, so I don't know if it'll work the same way though. It working also could've just been a fluke for me.
Can you pass the Bypass Windows Check link please, I want to try it

Sorry for the delayed reply, was playing. Here it is: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13v5MprG4ySBTa7fa1tLlZeWvwn4RNg3X?usp=sharing
Be sure to right-click and download the entire folder, or to make a folder with the name Bypass Windows Check to place the two files in. And, just so I don't have to address this later if someone needs to know, the mod's installation path should be as follows:

When installed on your computer's hard drive: BRANDNAME (C:)>Program Files (86x)>Steam>steamapps>common>Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Mega Mix Plus>mods
When installed on an external hard drive: BRANDNAME (D:)>SteamLibrary>steamapps>common>Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Mega Mix Plus>mods
If there is no mods folder, either make one yourself or, if you don't wanna do what I do and second guess yourself when you make it on your own even though you damn well know you're not doing anything incorrectly, download the Diva Mod Loader from Gamebanana and install any mod through it, that should create the folder if it isn't there.

NOTE: Just gonna be clear, I am not the person who made this mod obviously, so if this doesn't work then there's nothing else I can do to help. Just wanted to throw out my weird solution. Also, I do not have this game on my PC's hard drive, just the external hard drive, so if there's any inconsistency with the file path that's why.

Delete ♥♥♥♥ from your computer or get a better one that can run the game. :kaitoDIVA:
I CANT PLAY IT TOO SOMETHING IS WRONG
Yeah, the Windows version check is known to lock the game up without giving an error message. I need to update Special K for the latest patched version of the game, it has a fix for this particular problem -- or at least did.
Special K has been updated with a fix for this problem, BTW.

22.8.9.1-D3D9-IK ================ + Merge pull request #21 from Braasileiro/megamixplus-1.02, * Updated framerate unlock and Windows version check bypass for Project Diva 1.02 + Improved compatibility with recent ReShade releases + Added logging/fix if games try to create typeless Shader Resource Views for Depth/Stencil surfaces that Special K is not managing + Fixed black screens and missing visual effects in Final Fantasy XIV and YS IX

At the moment, the installer is only updated to 22.8.9:

https://sk-data.special-k.info/repository/SpecialK_22.8.9.exe

The updated SpecialK64.dll is available on our Discord server:

Can you guys explain how it's not working for you?

I mean, are you seeing a black screen, is no window even opening/starting up, is it immediately crashing, is there an error message, do you hear anything, or what?

There are a million possible causes, so the more details you provide, the easier it will be to troubleshoot.

In my case, Steam shows the game running for about a second, then shows it stopping. And then performs a cloud sync. No window or anything showing up at all.

This happens to me if I have anything open that goes in front of other programs. I have an ahk script that shows a small icon in the corner that prevents it from starting, if I disable that it works fine.

Four suggestions:

First, try pressing the Windows Button + R to open up the Run program. Type in

steam://flushconfig/

This will clear your local download cache, in case there is an issue with the update process that is causing the problem. You will need to log into Steam again.

Second, locate the actual .exe of the game in your local files and run it directly and as an admin. It's simple but worth trying.

Third, if you have more than one monitor/screen, try launching the game after unplugging any extra monitors.

Fourth, open Task Manager and end/close all programs not needed. Then try to start the game.

Well, ain't that interesting. Apparantly, it's microsoft's fault!
Trying to open the game from it's own exe file without steam gives the mfplat.dll missing error. Looking it up, it seems to be related to the limited features in N versions of windows. So yeah, looking into it further and hoping to find a solution.

So yeah, it's a Windows Media Features Pack (hereafter called WMFP) issue. Specifically that it wasn't installed on my PC.
For those that have a similar issue, installing it may be easy, or a hell. It depends on your version of Windows. Because yes, there are multiple versions of Windows 10.
To check which one you have installed, open the start menu and type "winver", then run the command.
If the version does not say 21h2, your fine to just follow Microsoft's normal instructions: Microsoft WMFP version page[support.microsoft.com]
If it does say 21h2, MegafailMicrosoft's instructions may fail you. If you can't find the "Media Feature Pack" in your "Add Optional Features" list, you'll need to pull out some commandprompt skills.

As shown on This[www.tenforums.com] particular forum thread (external website):

First open the windows command prompt as administrator, then run the following command:
DISM /Online /Get-Capabilities
Look through the (alphabetically ordered) list to see if you can find a "Media.Mediafeaturepack" entry.
If you find it, paste it in the proper place in the following command, and press enter:
DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0
It should now install the necessary stuff to run this and other games that require WMFP.

Good luck, everyone!

No, it's Valve's fault. They've been doing that for years.

What have they been doing for years? Deleting Windows Media Player?

Found the issue with mine. Go to the game's files and look to see if there's a dinput8.dll file. Deleting that worked for me. If not, one of the things they suggested on sega support was to make a new admin account on your PC and running the game from that account.
Thx, this works for me too :)

They've been suppressing Operating System error messages unless you start a game from the executable directly.

Right, that is a bit annoying. They should probably do something about that.

You are a life saver -- deleting that file worked for me
