After recently finishing my third playthrough of Twofold, I felt it was finally time to leave a review for a game that has become so very special to me. Twofold was one of the first visual novels I've experienced, along with Highway Blossoms and Heart of the Woods (also excellent titles). Yet, I felt as if the themes and stories told within Twofold resonated the most with me. While dramatic to say, I genuinely feel blessed to have been able to have this experience, while simultaneously feeling immense regret that I'll never be able to experience it for the first time ever again. There are a very select few games I can say that about, and I am glad to say that Twofold has been added to that list. The first time around (with Caprice) I was definitely not ready for the things that Twofold made me feel that I hadn't felt in a very long time, it hit quite close to home. Foolishly, I thought that I would feel differently the second time around (with Millie), and I found myself feeling the same way, if not feeling more. While visual novels aren't to everyone's taste, this is certainly a title I believe that everyone should experience and I will most definitely be recommending it to everyone I can. Haven't gotten around to buying the soundtrack yet, but I will since I can't stop listening to Tracing Footsteps. While the story has concluded, and I'm more than happy with the endings, I can't help but hope that we'll see these characters again sometime in the future. Should such a time come, I will absolutely be buying that title.
