The Line Gun is a situational weapon meant for crowd control. When upgraded, it can kill a lot of lesser necromorphs in a single hit. It's main disadvantage is its slow projectile speed, meaning that it's useless for long range combat, especially against the Hive Mind.

The Plasma Cutter is a well-balanced weapon. Those who take their time to aim will find the cutter to be a great asset in the fight against the undead. It's main disadvantage, though not a big one, is that it has a relatively low-to-moderate damage output depending on how you upgrade it.

So I would say the Plasma Cutter.

Necromorphs are not undead, they are a recarnation of a live human (transformation of altman) or a corpse. and yea the plasma cutter because without power nodes, it is still a powerful weapon

Plasma cutter definately! Just started DS3, late to the party, but don't like Origin, but could'nt resist not playing the game. Heard the plasma cutter not as powerful in this game? In DS1 & 2 used the combination of Plasma Cutter & Pulse Rifle, in DS2 when I got the advanced suit with extra slots went for Detonator as well, good defensive weapon that helped me get through those tricky end chapters.

Must say, never liked the Line Gun, too slow & not good at long range.

line gun, cause the line gun can shoot a big line that kill tons of necromorphs. sure, the plasma cutter can shoot at long distances, but it doesnt mean anything. i would say the line gun
