Should I get Dead space or Dead space 2?
Hello everyone. I am going to get a Steam card today, and I either want to buy the first Dead space of Dead space 2. Which one should I buy..? They are both 19.99. Thank you for your responses.

Well if your interested in both I would suggest starting out with the first one. If youve never played spooky third person games (like Resident Evil 4) you may get creeped out. The First ones got good atmosphere, and the combats solid. The tactics for both games pretty much remains the same. The second one has perhaps smoother controls (only ever played it with a contoller), maybe less scary, and takes place on a space station. In my opinion Dead Space 2 is the best for gameplay, but you cant beat being on a space ship stranded in space.

I would suggest Dead Space 1.

The USG Ishimura is a much more scenic, and atmospherical place than the Sprawl of Dead Space 2. I also liked the characters and plot of Dead Space 1 a lot more.

Although Dead Space 1 can have quite some bugs and glitches. But I would still recommend it over Dead Space 2.

I would recommend playing both imo. However, Dead Space 1 has glitches and I'm encountering one myself atm. It's unplayable in my case. I like the Dead Space series. You should watch Dead Space:Downfall first then play Dead Space 1 first though if you want to know the story and everything. After this watch Aftermath and then play Dead Space 2. I like Dead Space 2 better though since the gameplay is MUCH MORE improved and the characterization of our protagonist went up, he actually has thoughts rather than being silent in the first game.

They're both very good games and would recommend them both, but if you want to know the storyline better and the main character Isaac better then i would recommend starting with the 1st one. If i was you though i would try and wait untill a sale because you could get them both for about £10

If you get Deadspace 1 I strongly suggest you have an Xbox 360 controller. Despite all the issues you see with the PC version of Deadspace 1, with a controller I've found no issues personally and it plays no different than the console version for myself; as I've played both.

if you have to choose just one i would suggest DS2 cause its IMO the superior of the two + DS1 have that annoying mouse glitch that makes playin' the game almost impossible.

This. :)

If you shop around and wait a while you could probably get them both for a fiver.

Because I had a steam card and I couldn't decide which one to buy, so I wanted your guys opinions..but I never got any responses until after I bought Dead space two.

You should have just gotten steam keys (priced at $2.50 currently) in the comm market and trade them for DeadSpace 1 and 2 for 2 keys each... Most of the time, buying tf2 keys and trading them for games will be cheaper overall.
