Dead Space (2008)

Dead Space (2008)

Is there any way to get the Tank Suit for the PC/Steam version??
I have the CD-ROM version of "Dead Space" and have read, that the Tank Suit has 60% armor and makes doing playthroughs on the Impossible Difficulty somewhat easier.

But my question is, how do you unlock the Tank Suit for the PC version?

Nope, EA never released any DLC for Dead Space on the PC.
F#@K!!! Had seen how that suit looks and how badass it is, from reading Dead Space Wikia, being that the suit itself strange writings on it, making it the strongest suit in the game (possibly in the entire series), due to it absorbing a ton of damage

Hi to get the The Military Elite Suit which has the highest armor level in Dark Space, you have to complete the game on any difficulty level

that's strange. because I just completed the game on Hard awhile back (PC version), and i'm currently on Chapter 6 on my 2nd playthrough, and none of the Store booths have the Tank Suit available (only have the Military Suit)

it's cool. but you gotta admit, that it was pretty dumb of them to not include the Tank Suit for the PC version, whereas the console versions have it via DLC.

I think it's the same thing just renamed on the PC... but it's a pain as when you start a new game you have to wait until the first Store Booth to buy it

No DLCs were released on the PC version, and the Military Suit you get is NOT the same as the Tank Suit from the DLC package on console. The Tank Suit has 20% more damage resistance than the one you get for completing the game, putting it at 60% damage resistance.

as I said, too bad there wasn't a downloadable mod that adds the Tank Suit

I find this very odd, I keep seeing this all over the place, except I own the pre-ordered PC version from 2008 and it came with the Tank suit as a bonus for pre-ordering. I've played it, while wearing that armor, on my PC back in 2008.... And it's not just me, I can find post from 2008-2009 of people talking about getting the best armor as a pre-order bonus, and whether it ruined the game.

As far as I remember, you can only use the military suit on imossible after having cleared impossible first, it doesn't carry over from lower difficulties. For this reason, I never bothered to do another playthrough with it.

But impossible isn't that hard, just conserve ammo by using and upgrading the Ripper and upgrade your stasis module and use the free stasis refills as much as you can and sell all ammo you dont need and you'll be rich in no time.

Besides, isn't the steam version of DS inferior to the origin version, read somewhere that the steam ver has bugs they fixed on origin. Origin is the one I play and it had 0 issues for me.

to be fair, I didn't know about the Tank Suit being a pre-order bonus (as I only started playing the game off-and-on since 2011) if indeed true, and it's a rather B.S. move that they didn't keep it in the PC version (at least have it as an unlockable for completing the game on Impossible)
