Honestly surprised they haven't "remastered" this game. If they re-released it with better gamepad and mouse controls, I'd rebuy it...
I've been trying new things for maybe 2 months. I think it might not like high core count CPUs (or maybe it doesn't like a clean install of windows 1909.. *shrug* (or 4k screens... or something)
but for the people that got it working, the trick it to make the ini file in the correct appdata folder and run it in compatibily mode.
You go to the nividia control panel and activate vsync on dead space. Put it to ON.
then you go in dead space and disable vsync.
After that you set your resolution to for example: 1900 * 1080 * 60fps
if you do that the controls are id say 95% perfect.
And its on 60fps so you dont feel a big difference.
Its less then $8 (Aus) at cdkeys.com lol
If I don't activate vsync, I can't rotate the character correctly, like just a few degrees. If I activate vsync, everything is normal there
Try your guide and keep shooting at 36fps (I have a 72hz monitor - Samsung CF390)
---- EDIT 03/07/2021 12:13 AM ----
I have tried all the possible guides on the internet and also a modification of txt on the sensitivity of the mause. Nothing worked.
What did work was:
In that settings.txt in [USER] \ AppData \ Local \ Electronic Arts \ Dead Space
Window.Hz = 120
With RTSS lock the fps at 120
Problem solved!.
Game runs totally fine with Proton. Mouse is a little lazy. Nothing serious.
V-sync ON/OFF, it does not matter. There is no door glitch. All those issues seems to be when running Windows. On Linux systems, game runs like it should be.
pcgamingwiki has a section for the different inputs and next to "controller sensitivity" the note states...
"The command has to be manually added through the settings.exe file for the game."
But of course, it doesn't actually say what the command is. Does anyone know what command needs to be added to the ini?
And to clarify, by "sensitivity" I mean the speed of the camera moving left/right/up/down. I am not talking about controller deadzones since Durazno fixes that.
