Dead Space client doubt

Greetings to the community.
Could I ask a question? If I buy Dead Space (2008), as well as the other titles, Dead Space 2 and 3, I need an EA account, right? Which means that when I launch the game bought from Steam, the EA client will open at the same time and I must enter login and password a second time to be able to play? Basically, in order to play DS I have to launch/run two clients (Steam and EA)?

Dead Space 1 doesn't have any extra clients or login systems. Dead Space 2 has in-game login to access multiplayer.

So is the third one the only chapter in the DS franchise that requires an EA account?

Yes, DS3 requires a 3rd party client, namely EA App, formerly Origin. DS1 & 2 don't.

ed; You don't need to login to EA each time, it's like Steam's login system, kind of 'set & forget'.
