20$ Dead Space 2008 too expensive? How about only 1$

I completed the Remake and wanted to play the original for comparison and curiosity but didn't want to pay 20$ almost the same amount as the Remake in discount so I waited just to discover they wont discount the the original. Luckily I found out you can buy it on Instant Gaming for only 1$ but you have to play on your EA account that you obviously should have considered you played DS3 on PC.

Hope I could help for those who wanted to play DS 2008 but didn't want to pay 20$.
I didn't play the game yet but reading disscusion there should be a lot of bugs so be mindful.

i guess wait for the sale. I bought the EA Sci-fi collection (dead space 1-3 + mass effect 1-3) for 14$, but you must consider that it was a regional price (my country is Ukraine)

It's usually 3 dollars on GOG. (Original PC version is bad tho, better off playing the console ver.)

They didn't say they didn't have money for it. They said they didn't want to pay 20 bucks for a 16 year old game. Which makes pretty good sense. It's EA so if course they are going to keep their game over priced

Given that game companies normally de-list the original version of a game from the store once a remaster / remake is released for it I wouldn't be too quick to complain... I'm sure it'll go on sale again though if you really want the 2008 version.

steam db says it was on 75% sale once in 2023 and twice in 2022. Add to this 1 or 2 bundle sales (i bought sci-fi bundle of dead space games and mass effect)

Those are not normal instances (the first being right before the addition of the EA Play subscription, this same thing happened to other titles such as Crysis 3), and in 2022 it was before the release of the remake. EA is no longer putting it on the table because of these reasons.

It's only been on sale 4 times on steam and every one of them have been 75%. The next one will be too.

Each of its sales were just regular sales. So it does actually, regularly go on sale for 75% off.

bought it in may 2023 with 85% discount in Sci-fi bundle. You just need to monitor stuff that you REALLY want to buy.
