Differences between Normal and Hard Difficulty (First Time Play)
As the title suggest, what does hard difficulty do besides increased enemies health ? Does it adds additional location like RE 4 style ? I have played the game in normal until the end of chapter 2 and it's kinda okay, but i feel like i need more "suspension" ;D

Oh and also, does beating the game in normal unlock higher difficulty ? I know there's another difficulty above hard

nothing as far as new areas or that kinda thing
basically your damage is scaled down, and enemies scaled up

im not even certain if theres more enemies (i dont think so)

think ammo/health drops are less or gone too

in easy you can go the whole game not using stasis or TK
except where its nessescary (like the auto door when you first get stasis)

in hard youll feel more inclined to bother with stasis

for some reason i wana say the extra hard mode is unlocked by
hunting easter eggs, or collecting certain missable pickups
(if not then its just beat on hard)
check on IGN

its been years since ive played, and typically if i gota beat a game just to
unlock trivial dificulties i dont bother, i seen all the story and im done

On Hard difficulty, enemies just suck up more ammo and dish out slightly more damage, nothing else is different, even ammo and health find and drop rates remain the same as Normal. I say slightly more damage, because if you upgrade your health and buy the better suits when they become available they don't really cause much of a dent unless you let them bunch up on you or do something else stupid.

Just do Hard.

Hard in itself isn't hard enough for me, personally.

dead space is a type of a game that is completely fine to play in the hardest difficulty when you start, you will unlock one more harder anyway. so go for in hard you acctualy play the game and use the features to desmember then.
one guy I know on YouTube made the Impossible Difficulty look ridiculously easy

Rush upgrade your damage on plasma cutter, then max the stats on your stasis module and kinesis, and the game gets a lot more manageable.

no dude. this YouTuber i'm referring to (named "Wolfwood824") not only sold his Plasma Cutter, but he used the Force Gun/Line Gun combination as his weapon setup (using the Pulse Rifle for the boss fights), and sold ALL of his med-packs that he picked up.

Watched him, he's got some experience. I'm finding that impossible is easier for me than hard by a long shot, because I know a lot more going in. Cherish your first run man, do it in the dark with headphones or good speakers, with the brightness turned down and the sound turned up. You'll never have a run as delightfully frightening as round one. DO NOT WASTE ROUND ONE!
