Dead Space (2008)

Dead Space (2008)

I kept getting the error "Your Graphics Card does not meet Dead Space Minimum Requirements."
Just wanted to put this out here because I kinda had a hard time figuring out why I can't run the game even though my laptop met the recommended specs:

The game needs a monitor that has a refresh rate of at least 60Hz!

My laptop's monitor is only 57.305Hz, but when I connected it to a monitor with 60.10Hz, I can finally run it. Not sure if this was an obvious or easy fix for some, but if you're someone like me who doesn't know much about games and PC, I hope this helps you :)

Does your laptop have both an integrated and dedicated Nvidia gpu? It's possible it's using the integrated card instead of the dedicated one. If so, make sure the game is using the Nvidia card, so go to the Nvidia control panel, Manage 3D settings, program settings, and find DeadSpace.exe and set it to use the Nvidia card, instead of Auto select. if you have an AMD card instead, however, this method should work on the AMD control panel too.

Hi! I've already fixed it, it turns out that it wasn't a graphics card issue, but more of a monitor issue. Just wanted to share it out here just in case someone gets the same problem that I had since I found it a bit tricky.

Ohhh, i thought you still had the issue. Didn’t notice probably. 😅

I have the same problem, with the same way to fix it (connect external monitor), but would like to play it on the go.
Has any other workaround been found?
