Dead Space (2008)

Dead Space (2008)

Question about EA Play.
Sorry if this has been discussed before but I just wanted to make sure about this. So I was thinking about buying all three dead space games but then I released you gotta have EA play. I thought to myself "No big deal."....until I saw that its $4.99 a month. So to play these games I have to pay $4.99 a month? If that's the case, I'm gonna stick with my ps3 copies.
If anyone can confirm this, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

P.S. Even though I already own the games on the ps3, I would like to play them on the pc so that I can use my headphones. I think we can all agree horror games are best played with headphones and in the dark.

No, you don't need EA Play for these, EA Play is just a subscription service that let's you play games free when you pay for a membership, think Xbox Game Pass, but EA. You can get these games without EA play, difference being of course, you buy the games themselves, rather than a membership to play them for free, but in return, you get to keep the games, unlike with EA play, when you cancel the membership, you lose the games.

And on the store page, it does say you need to accept EA Play terms, but that would only apply, if you got EA play, and then the DS games through that, then you would need to accept them, but if you just buy them without EA play, you don't need to accept anything EA play related. got these years ago on steam, when EA Play didn't exist on steam yet, and i don't need EA play to play these games. So you can get them without EA play, don't worry. :-)

TL;DR, you don't need EA play for these games, you can play them without an EA play subscription.

Only thing you do need, is Origin installed, since Dead Space 3 requires that, but DS1 and 2 don't need origin.

the only EA game I ever bought on Steam was Unravel and I had to refund because running both Steam and Origins have obliterated my FPS to the point of being impossible to play, loading times took half an hour to load. I have Unravel "for free" and it runs just fine.
TL:DR will I also have this issue with Dead Space 3, since people above mentioned it requires Origin to run simultaneously if the game is bought on steam?

I havent had this issue with Dead Space 3, so i can't say, and yes, DS3 requires you to run Origin/EA App at the same time. An issue i in turn have, is that i can't play the game after running it once, first time starts just fine, subsequent ones, no dice, either thru steam or origin.

Origin was OK but the new EA App is broken, they need to do some patching.

Yeap, it was Ea App that i have an issue with, not origin.
