bruh why's the first door at the start got an invisible wall?
found an old discussion thread about it apparently being caused by turning off vsync... they can't just fix it?

bought this a few years back since I'd heard it's good (and didn't have this issue the first time round), but damn this is game-breaking. Can't believe it's still in the game after all these years....

No they cannot fix it, because Visceral Games is no more.
Only Developer can do any fixes.

rip. There's a remake in the works though, so hopefully it gets fixed then.

Framerate issue. Play with frames locked with vsync or an external program.

yes i said in the post it was cuz of vsync, i'm just baffled as to why it's still an issue like 12 years after release.

The game is old, many old games(like far cry 2,Skyrim first edition, many console ports) have issues with high fps, where physics and or colisions, scripts, animations can alter, broke down.

I recommend going into your AMD/Nvidia GPU control panel and limit frames to 60 for ALL 3 dead space PC games.Or turn off ingame vsync and turn on control panel vsync. If you are over 144hz monitor, vsynnc can causes problems cause of high frames.

I played through the game like 7-8 times on Steam.I found the game to be "safe" to roughly 150fps.However even around 150 fps can cause slight warping issues, and physics will work differently(I had item clip out of geometry very rarely) than 60.60 is totally safe.<<<

The higher you go above 60 the more mouse control will go "worse and worse"unless fixed via mods.Or you can turn in vsync ingame for all 3 dead space games and enjoy the 30fps insane inputlag, cinematic ps3 era experience.

Also never use continue game in dead space 1 cause it can reset your difficulty to medium,Unless you are already playing on medium.....Also new game+ can also only be the same difficulty as the cleared game.

Thankfully later DS PC ports have less issues....cap the frames

I only own the first game (not super interested in the others, they seem to be way more shooter-like) but the in-game vsync option worked fine (my monitor refreshes at 60 Hz, no need to open the AMD settings)

The ingame vsync option locks the game to 30 FPS. So yeah, it'll stop any of the bugs from happening. But you're also gimping yourself frames.

I haven't noticed tbh. This is a slower-paced game, so it's fine.
