Zero g jump?

I've played through 2 and 3 with no issues, but for some reason I can't get the zero g jump to work on 1. Says the controlls are ctrl, but when I use that button, the lazer guide line appears. Am I missing something, or just having a blonde moment?

You gotta aim at a surface you can jump to first. This game doesn't have "realistic" zero-g movement, you just jump from wall to wall.

Ah hell. well that would explain it. Thanks. And yeah, I'm not so gung-ho for the orders of games. I just like to enjoy games however and whenever I stumble upon buying them.
