Right analog stick not working on a PS3/360 controller
Every button is just fine, but the r analog stick will not register any movement, making looking around impossible

That's the side effect of using the mouse fix. Go to your Dead Space main folder and delete the dinput8.dll file (or any .dll files you find with "input" in their name).
This'll make sure the game uses the built-in controller support.

However I don't recommend stopping there, as the high sensitivity and large deadzone make the game frustrating to play using a controller.
Download Xpadder and map the mouse to the right analogue stick. This intercepts the default in-game controls, getting rid of the deadzone and allowing you to freely modify the sensitivity from within Xpadder.

Looking across half a dozen controller threads across a few sites and this is the first one that mentions the mousefix being the issue, thanks.

Thank you for this. I can confirm that the input/mouse mod breaks the right analogue stick on a XBOX One controller.

Man, it is 2022 and Callisto Protocol came out two days ago. Didn't buy but got me hyped enough to finally play Dead Space for the very first time before the remake comes out in less than 2 months. I'm not a PC gamer and it cost me 5 hours to fix this issue. I downloaded the mouse fix and then fixed the VSync issue, then tried to fix the right analog stick issue with and without Steam Big Picture mode running which I suspected didn't work since I downloaded the game with the EA launcher ♥♥♥♥ them very much and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around endlessly with DS4Windows which correctly showed RS inputs and after much googling I find this here and apparently I shouldn't have downloaded the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mouse fix at all.

This kind of ♥♥♥♥ is exactly why I stopped playing on PC and switched to console back in 1996 with the PS1 for good.

You are my hero. I wish the systems were better so you could just be a regular guy, though. Much love.

I feel the same. Consoles rightly get criticised for constantly being behind PC technology but I never had this many problems getting games to work properly when playing on console.
