Anita Sarkeesian mirrors edge 2

Apparently EA has told Dice to listen to what she has to say and impliment it into the game...I have a bad feeling about this one...

I don't see a problem, I would rather have a more realistic female protagonist ,which is what Anita Sarkeesian has been asking for since she found her fame with her blog and kickstarter, then the bs that usually comes out when there is a female lead in a video game, that is developed by males. The fact that this worries you makes me wonder even more if she doesn't have a stronger point than I originally thought.

Old news and didn't it turn out to be pretty much a BS beatup by the anti Anita crowd.

If you have a bad feeling that somehow one person who is not part of DICE or EA is going to influence the direction of a game that has been in development for years you need to stop drinking the anti Anita koolaid and get a grip.

If you look online all you can really find is negitive news about her, so of course I have some hesitation. I hear a lot of how she is more in for her own gains and not for "women" so of course until I hear more about exactly HOW shes working with DICE, I'm hesitant. I wouldn't mind a more realistic female protaganist (I think it adds to the immersion) but then theres the whole fact that apparently she said the game was too difficult for women. (ironic really).

So it depends how it really impacts the game, I don't think they would let her screw with it in a negative way so I mean It's not a huge deal, but it definitely seems strange. I mean...how hard can it be to build a realistic female protagonist when you have females working on your team. Do you really need some other random person telling you what to do? It just seems over the top. Lol you guys seem pretty defensive over it. I never said it was a bad thing, but from what has been covered and said so far about her (mostly negative) of course It's going to leave a good chunk of people a little worried about how the game will pan out.

Big deal! You should be more worried about EA influencing developement. I can't think of any games feminists have ruined, but a lot EA has. Anita must have good points because she's provoked some of the most vile, knuckle dragging scum on the earth into attacking her.

Very much agree. Faith was always a pretty amazing female protagonist to begin with. Anita being added to the process gives me some doubt. At this point, her movement could negatively impact this game greatly. EA would be willing to do whatever she says, just to get her stamp of approval and avoid any nasty PR with Gamersgate or sexism in games.

gamergate is good in many of is aspects and bad in others, a wing of mra's acting like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is never good but the principles it pushes for are just and good, also; I happen to dislike anita sarkeezian for her hypocrisy, scam ties with think tanks in canada and her blatant lies about many video games, which she has not even played as she took the footage from let's players without permission.

Seeing as how Anita knows nearly nothing about video games, I doubt she'll be influencing that much. Everything that she's looking for in a female protagonist, Faith already is.

This is exactly what scares me. She knows nothing, and being put on this project is a very public thing. She will be compelled to do "something", and that can only be a bad thing for the game. Faith is already good. She's not a game designer, and they've put her in the position to help design the game and story... Aprehensive to say the least.
